WHAT SCHOOL DISTRICT IS THIS?
We are in the Rio Rancho school district. At current writing, the elementary school (grades 1-5) is ENCHANTED HILLS. The middle school (grades 6 &7) is MOUNTAIN VIEW and RIO RANCHO MID-HIGH (grades 8 & 9). RIO RANCHO HIGH SCHOOL caters to our 10-12 grades.

HOW DID LOS RIOS GET STARTED?
This neighborhood is the only part of Unit 17 on the east side of Highway 528. There are almost 300 lots with approximately 175 homes built and several ready to go under construction. (Better Hurry!) In the 1960’s Los Rios was an AMREP subdivision but because of some legal problems, AMREP backed out as the developer. They eventually sold all of the lots to many different individuals.

WHAT ABOUT UTILITIES?
Utilities have been installed as needed, one house at a time. Most areas have electric services and natural gas lines. Some homes have natural gas and some have propane gas depending how far from the natural gas lines they are located. Some homes that were built stated off with propane gas and then converted to natural gas when the lines got close enough to their property. Every home has a private well and septic tank.

HOW DEEP ARE THE WELLS?
Currently, wells must be drilled. BUT! NO MONTHLY WATER BILL!! Wells here are approximately 170 deep to 410 deep but this is your decision and what works best for you. Some homeowners have installed water softeners and some choose not to.
